.Directions to #6 BAJA DEL MAR "House on the sand #6" |
| |
| Getting to Baja Del Mar is easy. Take Highway #5 south from San Diego. Highway 5 dead ends at the Mexican border. Go through the 2nd guard booth from the right hand side and stay in that lane and you will automatically end up on the toll road to Rosarito and Ensenada (Tijuana-Ensenada Scenic Road). The toll road is measured in kilometers (km) and starts at km#10 at the first toll booth. Follow the toll road watching the km# signs along the right hand side of the highway and when you get to km#26 you will be there. The toll is approximately $2.30 at the current time. You can pay in dollars or pesos. |
|
| |
 | At km#25 you will not be able to miss The Oasis, a large hotel and entertainment complex that looks like its name. Baja Del Mar is exactly 1 km further. After traveling that 1 km you will see a sign just before the entrance. It is just before the road starts curving to the left. Turn right off the toll road and you will see the gate to the Baja Del Mar development. |
|
| |
| Baja Del Mar has an electric gate. A guard should be inside the gate to open it for you and check you in. If the guard is making rounds or is not there, wait for another car to come to open the gate. In emergency situations, there is a gate in the bushes to the right side of the big gate that you can walk through. |
|
| |
| After the gate, jog left on the first street and then right and then left again and you will be going south on the street that runs parallel to the ocean. Proceed to #6. The house appears large from the street, but it’s actually two separate houses joined together on the street side. Dennis lives in #5 which is the south house. His entrance is to the south of the property through a blue gate, in the walkway between #5 and #3. #6 is a separate house on the ocean side and its entrance is on the north side, in the walkway between #6 and #7. |

|
| | | [Recently, the exit from the toll road has been closed for repair and redesigning. When you use it you will understand why. The closings have been unpredictable. If the exit is closed it will be necessary to take the long way around the Pemex plant and take the back road to the complex. Continue on the toll road until you come to the first exit for Rosarito. Exit the toll road and proceed straight ahead for a few hundred yards until you reach the first stop sign (Alto). | | | | There is a very large electric tower on your right when you stop at the Alto sign. Turn right and the road will take you toward the ocean and through a complex of power plants and petroleum storage tanks. The road is paved for 1.1 miles but turns to dirt after you pass the entrance to the Pemex complex. Unfortunately, the dirt road can be rough and you will want to go slowly. Continue straight ahead on the dirt road for 0.8 miles where the road ends. Turn left and you will be at the entrance to Baja Del Mar.] |
